Cognizant Technology Solutions partners with Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering

Sets up an Extended Software Solutions Lab
To promote innovative research in bleeding-edge technologies

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation, a provider of e-business and application management solutions, today announced a technology-sharing partnership with Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE), Sriperumbudur, one of the most respected colleges in Southern India. This partnership will promote innovative research and project interactions in the technologies that will empower business in the next millennium through the establishment of an Extended Cognizant-SVCE Software Solutions Lab at SVCE’s premises.

Cognizant will provide the technical know-how on the latest technologies and share its ongoing research initiatives with SVCE. It will jointly develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, tools and solutions in areas such as Internet, telecom, componentware, and software engineering. Cognizant will deploy the developed solutions in its projects, using its time –proven ISO-9001 certified and SEI/CMM Level 4 assessed proprietary processes.

Leveraging this relationship, SVCE will produce professionals with "hands-on" software development experience in these technologies. It will provide an interface with the industry that will keep its faculty abreast of technological changes. It will resource Cognizant’s subject matter experts as guest faculty on a regular basis, and obtain valuable input from them for framing curricula and syllabi.
